Increased Plastics Recycling in Rhode Island

As many of you are aware, Rhode Island recently expanded its plastic recycling capabilities to include plastics numbered 1-7, not just those numbered 1 and 2. Common plastics like yogurt containers and iced coffee cups can now be recycled.

This doesn’t just affect your curbside recycling program at home. These items can now be put in the recycling bins at PARE’s office in Lincoln as well. Although we can commingle recyclables in one bin at home, please continue to put plastics only in the blue bins in the lunch rooms. Consult the fliers posted in the lunch rooms for more information.

And thanks goes out to Trish Teeter and Cailin Riggs, who found out about this information and posted the fliers.
